Interim Technical Director
Our client, headquartered in the UK, is a leading Contract Manufacturing Organisation with several facilities in the UK as well as others in Germany and Italy.They are a highly regarded supplier of API’s as well as formulated products and custom synthesis solutions, who in recent years have demonstrated a customer-focused approach that has resulted in very significant growth to their business, their number of physical assets and the number of their employees.
In line with their continued lofty ambitions, a new and very senior interim role has been created – namely that of Interim Technical Director. Reporting directly to the company’s CEO, the primary responsibility of the role will be to provide a strategy to develop a world class Formulation Development capability and Technical Transfer capabilities to support the business. In addition, a plan on how to deliver dosage form Centres of Excellence is expected.
Candidates will be educated to PhD level and will have a track record of developing a broad range of dosage formats as well as experience of successful tech transfer of finished dosage forms into commercial facilities. Evidence of success in New Business Introductions is important.
Candidates must have a global mindset and be strategic, creative and entrepreneurial in outlook. The assignment will most likely be of 9 months duration and demand between 3 and 5 days per week. Essentially located in the NorthEast, but with some domestic and international travel.
This is a very senior, very important and challenging assignment that will stretch even the best candidates.
For the successful candidate, the possibility of a subsequent transition to a very senior permanent position does exist.
