Interim Sales / Business Development Director (CMO)

Our client is a leading supplier of formulated products, active pharmaceutical ingredients and custom synthesis solutions to the global pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors.

Through its innovative, flexible and service-driven approach to finding solutions for its customers, the company has more than tripled the size of its business over the past ten years, as well as significantly growing their physical assets and capabilities.

They are now the partner of choice to several of the top-ten global pharmaceutical companies.

The company has 6 state of the art manufacturing and development facilities in the UK and elsewhere in Europe, and also has a US office located on the West Coast.

The need has emerged for an Interim Sales / Business Development Director for its formulated / finished dosage business unit.   This is a senior level position and a key part of the leadership team of that large and growing business unit.

The position has a number of direct reports and includes accountability for the sales teams in the UK, Germany and Northern Europe.

The role is one that will require extensive travel and involve close interaction with the Site Directors of the various manufacturing facilities and with Clients, both potential and existing.

The assignment is anticipated to be of 12 months duration, and be as close to full-time as possible. For the right candidate, there is a genuine possibility of a subsequent transition into a permanent position of employment.

Location is ideally in the Southeast of England, although this is not a must-have.

The role reports directly to the Managing Director of the Formulated Products Business Unit.
