Interim Programme Manager (Company / Manufacturing Relocation)
Our Client is a well-known SME life sciences company with its unique and pioneering technologies already delivering therapeutic product candidates that are in the clinic. Other product offerings of a non-therapeutic nature are increasingly being used in academic and commercial research and are marketed worldwide by a major partner.The company’s current operations – R & D, Manufacturing, Clinical, Regulatory, Admin etc. are based in one site in the South East of England. It is the intention of the company to move its base elsewhere in the UK – approximately 150 miles distant.
Its new home will be a brand new, custom-built facility that will house, amongst others, its pioneering R & D Group and an enlarged state of the art manufacturing facility.
It is this relocation of the company as a whole, together with its manufacturing facility, that has created the need for an Interim Programme Manager to be responsible for overseeing what will be a highly complex and challenging exercise – one that will need to be delivered to demanding time and budgetary deadlines.
The successful candidate will need:-
- to have an impressive track record of programme / project management
- to have prior experience of a similar relocation exercise
- be familiar with GMP, GCP, GLP etc.
- to understand what will be necessary to obtain qualification / validation of the new facility prior to MHRA & FDA approval
- to have a hands-on approach to all aspects
- to enjoy the challenge of working to the demanding time and budgetary constraints
- to have a challenging nature
This relocation is a major exercise and needs to be carried out whilst the company continues with “business as normal”.
The company is keen that the interim assignment start as soon as possible. It is likely to continue through to the end of 2014.
Whilst difficult to estimate, it may be that the first few weeks of the assignment will be close to fulltime, with the workload tapering down to an average of 2-3 days / week thereafter.
This is a very demanding assignment indeed. My client is a company with high visibility and what they plan to do is ambitious.
