Interim Marketing Communications Manager (Food / Agritech)

Our Client is a highly regarded organisation operating within the Food and Agritech sectors, and about to embark upon some significant and exciting changes which in turn have created a number of new opportunities for high quality people.

Currently employing more than 500 scientists, our client currently offers a unique range of products and services to over 7,000 customers, both government and commercial, in over 100 countries

As part of its plans to expand and upgrade its commercial activities, the need now exists for an Interim Marketing Communications Manager.

This is a new and senior level role and one which demands an experienced individual of the very highest calibre.

The overall purpose of the role is to develop, implement and manage a marketing communications strategy and associated plans which will help deliver (or surpass) the agreed targets as laid down within the business plan.   Responsibilities will include the management of a marketing communications team that will include Events, PR, Digital Marketing and Channel Marketing.

Other responsibilities include:-

  • Establishing a proactive PR and media relations programme.
  • Developing a customer-focused website and maximising the effective use of digital technologies to expand business.
  • Managing outsourced creatives, copywriting, production and marketing services.
  • Developing a programme of events / tradeshows / conferences with clearly defined success criteria.

Extensive multinational corporate marketing communications experience within a scientific (services), technical-based B2B environment is critically important. Previous experience of the food / Agritech sector would be useful although not a must-have.

Experience of PR, of website development, of digital marketing and of event management are all competencies that candidates would be expected to have.

This role is intended to become a permanent one within the organisation in due course. Finding the right person to occupy this position on a permanent basis is expected to take some time, hence the need for a high quality Interim Manager to commence activities as soon as possible. Given this situation, the Interim Manager would be well poised to take on the permanent position should there be a desire to do so.

Whilst it is difficult to predict exactly the duration of the assignment (3-6 months ?), the assignment will certainly demand 4-5 days per week of commitment.

If this opportunity is a good fit with your own areas of experience and expertise, please make contact with Geoff Newman (Interea) as soon as possible.
