Interim Head of Marketing (Diagnostics)
Our Client is an award-winning in-vitro diagnostics company, venture capital backed and well-funded.The company is headquartered in continental Europe (within the EU), and has recently started to commercialise its first product(s) in a number of selected European markets via the efforts of experienced distributors. Other markets will follow, with distributors yet to be appointed.
Development of additional follow-up products is actively underway and the aim is that these will also be manufactured in the company’s own facility.
At this important stage in the company’s life, the need has emerged for a top-quality Interim Head of Marketing who will assume immediate responsibility for driving forward the company’s commercial efforts.
Key aspects of the role will include:-
- Working with / managing the distributors in those markets where the product(s) are already launched.
- Identifying and appointing distributors in other European markets.
- Development (and approval of) a comprehensive marketing / business plan that will encompass the successful launch of existing product(s) in new markets and the strategy for future products.
- Working with senior colleagues to help secure additional investment.
- Leading the efforts to identify and appoint a permanent Head of Marketing.
This interim assignment is initially expected to be of 3-6 months duration, and is likely to demand between 3 and 5 days per week. Frequent visits to the company’s headquarters will be necessary, although one can anticipate that much of the work can be conducted from a home base. Travel to key markets will certainly be required.
Candidates must be experienced diagnostic marketeers, have experience of launching new products and of working with European distributors. The assignment will demand an ability to think strategically and tactically, high energy and lost of initiative.
