Interim Chief Medical Officer
Our client provides world-class clinical genetics and biomarker solutions to the diagnostic and pharmaceutical sectors. The company employs 65 people, is revenue-generating and has customers in over 30 countries. It has a strong reputation and ambitious expansion plans.The need exists for an Interim Chief Medical Officer – a new role which reflects the need within our client to focus greater effort and resources on the clinical validation of novel biomarkers, particularly in the field of cancer diagnostics.
Reporting directly to the CEO, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing clear clinical advice and input into the company’s biomarker programme, helping ensure that key clinical unmet needes are being addressed and that new diagnostic tests will have a major influence on changing clinical practice. You will represent our client’s medical affairs externally and be responsible for designing and implementing clinical trials that will satisfy clinical associations, payers and regulatory authorities.
Candidates must be medically qualified, with proven experience in the diagnostic industry. Significant clinical experience in oncology is important as is an extensive network of contacts in the key external groups mentioned above.
The assignment is likely to last for 9-12 months, probably demanding 4-5 days per week in the inital 3-month phase.
