Interim CEO : Biotech Company
Our client is a privately-held biotechnology company very active, at the clinical development stage, with a new clas of drug with the potential to treat a range of cancers.
The need exists for this company to appoint an Interim Chief Executive Officer (CEO) who will assume responsibility for the company as a whole, currently employing 10 people – a mix of full and part-time.
The duration of this assignment will be for an initial period of 12 months, although the possibility certainly exists for this to be extended or to transition into a permanent position.
Given the ambitious nature of the company’s plans, it is likely the that the assignment will demand a commitment of 3-5 days per week.
The successful candidate can be based anywhere in the UK, but can expect frequent travel to London, Scotland and the US.
Candidates must have previous CEO experience within the biotech sector, be able to point to a history of creative commercial thinking and deal-making and to have successfully fundraised. Experience within the oncology area would be preferable, but not essential.
The ability to manage (and expand) a team of very able individuals is critical.
