Our Client is a highly-respected company working in the stem cell field, with a reputation for providing high quality, research and GMP grade pluripotent stem cells for use in clinical therapy and drug discovery.

As a key member of a major new international initiative, the company will take responsibility for production and processing of all iPSC lines in a brand new facility in the Cambridge area which will become the premier resource within Europe for iPSC’s over the next 5 years.

This new facility will comprise both laboratory and office facilities and is expected to employ approximately 20 people.

Reporting directly to the company’s CEO, the Head of Operations will take full accountability for establishing and managing all aspects of the Cambridge based iPSC operations at the dedicated facility.

Initial responsibilities will include:-

Leading the establishment of the physical production and QC facilities
Commencing the recruitment of key staff at the facility
Acting as the responsible head for the site and establishing the operations to meet required quality and safety standards
Candidates should have a BSc / PhD in life sciences and have a thorough knowledge of cell culture techniques / best practice. Particularly important in the early / interim phase will be hands-on experience of establishing a lab-based operation – one would anticipate candidates to possess excellent project management skills.

This an outstanding opportunity for someone to build the foundations for what is intended to become a genuine leader in the international field.
