Commercial / Operations Director
Our client is a small privately owned European pharma / biotech company which has its primary focus in Bone Marrow Transplant medicine in both adults and paediatrics.
Its first product is EMA & FDA approved and already marketed in the UK & Ireland and other European countries. A number of additional products are in development, all of which are in the BMT or autoimmune space. The need exists for an Interim Commercial / Operations Director to assume responsibility for all aspects of the company’s business in the UK & Ireland.
This is an interim role, probably of 9 months duration, 3-4 days per week, with the genuine possibility of a subsequent transition into that of General Manager UK.
Primary responsibilities will include the building of strong relationships with transplant haematologists, paediatric oncologists and haematologists, the development of protocols in target areas, the transfer of best practice and knowledge from one hospital to others, the preparation and delivery of annual business plans and the management of the supply chain and a 3rd party distributor.
Candidates must have an excellent understanding of oncology, ideally of haematological medicine and treatment protocols. Experience of the pharmaceutical industry is a must-have, either as a commercially aware medic, in a speciality commercial role or in Medical Science Liaison. A good business head is essential.
This is an exciting opportunity not only to drive the current business forward but also to prepare for upcoming new product launches. Location is not critical, although good access to London would be advantageous.
