Clinical Trial Supplies Manager (Interim / Permanent)

Our Client is a very well funded biotech company operating in what is an exciting and increasingly important disease area.

Its lead candidate is almost through Phase I of its clinical development and phase II planned to commence soon. Work is underway on formulating a number of different presentations and other products are scheduled to enter development in due course.

Given the significant funding that has recently been raised and the increasing extent of development activities, the need now exists for an Interim Clinical Trial Supplies Manager.

This important position will be responsible for building a “state of the art” supply chain capability that enables high quality and on-time delivery of investigational medicinal products (IMPs) supporting the range of clinical programmes.

The role will require an aptitude and willingness to have direct, hands involvement in the delivery of key projects, and to contribute more broadly to the management and leadership of the Company- interacting and collaborating with colleagues at all levels and with a variety of vendors and consultants.

Ideally, candidates will be science graduates and will need to have extensive experience of working within the pharmaceutical industry in supply chain roles from API’s through to drug product manufacture, packaging and distribution. Recent manufacturing experience and a strong understanding of the regulatory environment including good manufacturing practice and good distribution practice would be useful.

An in-depth knowledge of formulation development, product scale-up and commercial manufacture for a range of formulation types (e.g. intravenous and solid oral dosage forms) would be very valuable.

The Company will certainly consider candidates who wish to immediately assume an interim role and who might subsequently be interested in a transition to a permanent position of employment. Equally, candidates interested in an immediate start as an employee will be of real interest.

The role is expected to be of 6-12 months duration and demand approximately 3 days / week.

Location of candidates is not critical as the Company operates quite virtually.

If this opportunity is a good fit with your own areas of experience and expertise, please make contact with Geoff Newman (Interea) as soon as possible.
